Edward Samuel was a converted Jew known commonly as Samuel of Sleaford (see the book of this title for an account of his life). He wrote this little work on this vast subject for ‘the poor of Christ’s flock, rich in faith, and heirs of a kingdom’. He states ‘Herein will be found doctrine, experience, and precept; in a word, a brief summary of the whole gospel.
