Harry Salkeld was a soldier in the First World War, and subsequently a Strict Baptist Minister for over sixty years, twenty of which as a pastor. His ministry, like his life and personality, was a gracious testimony to the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. This account of his early years as a soldier, reveals many necessary lessons, which he afterwards, by grace was enabled to put to good use, in his course as a “good soldier of Jesus Christ.”
