Rev James Hervey 1714-1758, rector of Weston Favell, Northamptonshire, was a friend of Whitefield, Romaine and Doddridge among others. His writings provoked a bitter response from his former tutor, John Wesley, because of his clear Calvinism. This is the 3rd edition of his elegantly written ‘Meditations among the Tombs’ – a reminder of man’s latter end and of the all sufficiency of Christ – plus his various Contemplations. With a short biography.
