Originally published in a series entitled ‘True Stories of God’s Servants.’ It does not purport to be academic, but rather a straightforward, interesting and profitable history of the fiery Reformer. Farel has often been cast into the shadow of Calvin, so this book redresses the balance somewhat. This account relies to some extent on d’Aubigne’s ‘Life and Times of John Calvin’. This is beautifully produced with a dust jacket, retypeset from the third edition.
