In the 12 years from 1759 the Yorkshire manufacturing town of Huddersfield was spiritually transformed through Venn’s evangelical ministry. He was also more widely appreciated and correspondence with the likes of Lady Huntingdon, John Newton and William Cowper makes for fascinating reading.
